Logical choice but assumes a certain level of fitness which ultimately isn't guaranteed for any player.

Assume gale will be vice captain.

I stand by my original comments though that the team needs a number of players with captain attributes making who has the actual armband more of a symbolic thing.

The right man for the job in my view. He'll command the respect of the dressing room, he's got the intelligence for the role and he knows the club.

Yes, his injury history is always going to come up, but how many full seasons have Wigan had out of O'Loughlin in recent years?

Echo responses of others. Only choice for me. Hoping he can stay fit and get a good season behind him now. Really, he could have another 10 years in a Leeds shirt, so let's hope he puts these injury issues behind him as JJB largely did from earlier in his career.

I really hope he gets a run of much deserved luck thats well over due regarding injuries. If he does he can fulfill the obvious potential shown since his days at Churwell, Hunslet and Leeds SA and itll be absolutely the right fit.

He's probably the right personality for the job, but with his injury record he needs to be concentrating on his own rugby. If he gets another serious injury next season and misses half a season again it does re-raised questions on whether he's the man to build a team around
