Not being a Wigan fan doesn't make you a Troll although this thread does seem to be blighted by them.

Matty Smith is a good solid player who wont let you down, he is a definite step down from TL but if you pair him with a good exciting 6 with Tomkins at 1 then he should do the job. I do wonder if the rumours of other clubs including Saints being interested in him was just the usual politics clubs and agents play to force up the asking price, and if so how much cap have you used on him . (i.e how much do you have to spend on trying to find a Finch replacement)

Amos Roberts' wages will have gone on Smith. We will still have Finch, Lima, Leuluai, Carmont and probably Fielden's to spend on any recruits for 2013.

Fair enough , dont forget though alot of players (especially young lads) have scaling contracts , you basically become victims of your own success.

True, although a good chunk must go towards upgraded contracts for some of the youngsters. I'd expect McIlorum to be on a much bigger wage this time around, for one.

Of course, but I would have though that losing four oversees players will leave us in a favourable position on both the cap and the quota regardless of incremental/improved contracts.

It's a lot of stupidity from both sides but the problem is there are a lot of "new" wire fans coming along that actually direct argument at one person and it's hard to ignore at times because you wanna put these idiots straight. I agree though that year of the wolfs thing should be used only as a joke with wire fans that have a sense of humour.
