Bringing the fans back : Thu Feb 17, 2011 8:50 pm
Okay...I've got my beer (run out of Champagne - bugger ), and there's naff all on the telly as usual, so, to the 50 or so users, and 136 guests currently browsing this forum....how are we going to bring back the stay-away fans ???Personally I think we should have a big push on the woeful season ticket sales. At the shareholders meeting the other week, James Elston told us that we had only sold 600 season tickets, whereas HKR had sold 6000 !!.
Therein lies the root of our problem - we 'aint puttin' bums on seats (or feet on the terracin'), so why not slash the price of season tickets ??.
Yes, there will be us die-hard fans who have already paid full whack (it cost me over £400 to renew ours), but we are not the problem. The problem is with the "armchair fans" and the ones who have turned away from the club over the past few years. We have to give them some incentive to return, and I believe the biggest single stumbling block is the admission price....slash the season ticket prices to say £100 for adults, £50 for OAP's and £20 for kids, and then reduce match day admission to £10 adults, £8 OAP's, and £5 kids.
Then make the whole match day experience a day to remember, with improved entertainment, hospitality, etc etc, along with 110% effort from the players (we ask nothing more than commitment to the cause), and hopefully the crowds will come flooding back...we may be going out of Superleague, but let's go out with a bang and not a whimper, and show them what they are going to miss !!!!!
