Next Home Game.... : Tue May 25, 2010 4:28 pm
....is supposedly against Workington on June 13th, however various rumours seem to say otherwise.

As someone who is prepared to rearrange both their work commitments and family holidays around Panthers games can someone ITK give us all a comprehensive list of our remaining fixtures?

Don't bother referring me to the website unless it's been updated as it only loads down to the Gateshead game :?

The club needs all the support it can get - an accurate and up to date fixture list would be a great help - if there is a doubt about a fixture, or things need re-arranging, please, please PLEASE post something on the website to this effect.

It's no good sniping at the club's existing support about the poor turn outs when we don't know what's going on!

The site has it as an away game! But yeah I believe it is the workington game. According to the rfl fixtures and the worky website at least...

Won't load for me so I can't see what's coming up

Rumours doing the rounds after the Gateshead game were that Fylde wanted to re-seed the pitch and didnt want us playing there in June.

If that's the case I suggest we get busy and also announce the fact that an alternative venue is being sought.

AFC Blackpool (ex Mechanics) would fit the bill I'd have thought, it has as much seating as Fylde and two ends of cover, plus a reasonable clubhouse. We could also perhaps have a chat to the Cod'eads (Fleetwood Town) their, facilities are superb now.

Some announcement and clarification woud be good though...

Apparently fleetwood are dead against the idea of league being played at their ground. Mechanics could be ideal but I remember the playing field to be quite small and confined (granted I've not been there since I was a kid. I'll see if I can find anything out about the fylde re-seed rumour.

Brad Fitler "If the ref's decision decides your game. You haven't done enough prior."

Referees are like women, they make snap decisions and never reverse them.

Littlerich wrote Widnes will be glad to get away from Leigh. They've been regularly pumped, roasted and left in the alley-way by the lobbygobblers. Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.

Re: Next Home Game.... : Tue May 25, 2010 6:17 pm
Mechanics is/was quite small. Remember refereeing there in the old Gladiators days and the away team coach was pacing out the width of the pitch and questioning if it was legal

Just thought I would add not a clue. I had heard the rumours about the reseeding too and that they may move the game either to Grasshoppers (Preston not Zurich) or Chorley. :USTUPID:

And while we're on the games being moved subject according to RL express this week the last home game v Hunslet has now been moved back to the Sunday from the Saturday (15 August).

Anyone else off to watch the Barla final this week at Woodlands? Leigh East vs Queens so should be a decent game.

Re: Next Home Game.... : Wed May 26, 2010 12:22 pm
I have a trip to England planned for that weekend, and I was keen to come to the Workington game, but I had noticed the discrepancy between the Panthers website and the original fixture list some time ago, so I contacted the club. I received a very detailed reply explaining all of the fixture changes, and confirming that the Workington fixtures had been reversed because of work on the pitch at Fylde during June. I wouldn't want to criticise the person who sent me this information, as he took the trouble to do it and I'm sure he be believed it at the time - but within a couple of weeks Blackpool played their first league fixture against Workington – at Workington, as originally scheduled. Since then, the Blackpool website has continued to show the 13 June fixture as an away game (despite having already played at Workington), while the Workington website (more understandably) continues to list it as an away game at Blackpool. As the match is now less than three weeks away, this seems a ridiculous state of affairs. Personally, I’m past caring; I recently booked rail travel to Wrexham that day for the Crusaders v Bradford match, as I simply couldn’t wait any longer for this confusion to be resolved.

As it appears the only place the communications within the club are ever up to date are on Facebook, perhaps someone could point the club in the direction of that last message, via Facebook, and they can then start to see how their lack of coherent and consistant communications is working directly against what they claim to be trying to achieve.

As I said months ago, there's little point throwing shedloads of cash at the team, if all the other glue that holds the club together and takes it forward has the effectiveness of a 5 year old, long forgotten PritStick.

Sort it out or you'll only have yourselves to blame when there's no-one left watching the best team Blackpool RL has ever had.

I've been thinking of starting to link some of our feelings expressed on here onto Facebook. Next time i'm on the computer and not just using my phone i'll sort it.
